Gambling Guardian

Welcome to our new look website, blog, and social media. We’re excited to have you with us as we continue on our aim to raise awareness and reduce the stigma around gambling harms, particularly in the military.

Since becoming established by our founder Nick in 2020, the organization has worked hard to improve communication around the issue given that veterans are 8 times more likely to suffer gambling harm than civilians. We’ve supported many families signposting them to treatment pathways, delivered numerous presentations to hopefully help with early intervention, we’ve campaigned for reform and we’ve continued to raise awareness of the damage gambling harms can cause.

At this exciting time of growth, Catherine Amanda has joined the team as Project Manager aiming to expand the organization’s reach, further our peer support, and continue to raise awareness. Catherine experienced gambling harm as an affected other through a family member and has since become a passionate campaigner and advocate for change within the gambling sphere.

As we all anticipate the arrival of the ‘white paper’ and the changing landscape of the gambling industry, we will not tire in our efforts to offer peer support to those suffering, continue the conversations around awareness, and hope by doing so we can reduce the stigma around this topic letting people know they are not and never will be alone in their journey.

We will be keeping you up to date through our blog letting you know what we’ve been up to and our current thoughts on all things gambling harms and reform. Our social media will be a source of information, support, positivity, and offering hope through recovery.

We’d love for you to be a part of our journey so if you’d like to have a chat, find out what we’re up to, how we could work together, or how we could support each other, contact Catherine or Nick and they’ll be more than happy to have a chat or a virtual cuppa with you.

Stay safe
